This picture I took about a year ago. This picture was taken during my way from campus to home. It was January, when Jakarta often rain and flooding. During the rainy season I often go to college and go home together with my father, due to the flooding of roads and no public transport.
We drove through Kembangan street that flood is not too high. But today it is different from the previous day. As we pass through Kembangan street, there are some people that are ahead of us and asked us to pass Highway Kembangan Utara. This was my first experience of motorcycle rides across the highway. Normally, when cars across the highway, there is a price to be paid. but then the motor was given a special line to pass through toll roads and free. At the outside highway, the flood was higher than the previous day, therefore the street for motorcycle in diverting to the highway.
When we passed Daan Mogot Street, there was different views. Shelter busway Jembatan Baru has changed function. Shelters was used for flood victims. The shelters were unused due to the busway is not operating on the line. Such a view of it being a familiar sight every flood happened in Jakarta. This year shelter busway also switched functions for it too but I don't have a photo. The refugees are those who live in Rawa Buaya Street and her house flooded. They lived in shelters for a while before the flood subsided. State of the shelter was not comfortable and that was too crowded but the refugee still enjoy that moment.
